the upper basin of Canímar river the vegetation is mostly
cultural with some pasture lands and secondary vegetation. Two exceptions
are the hills of El Grillo, in which slopes grows a typical hummock
vegetation, and El Jacán, having a semi-natural vegetation
of woods and heaths over serpentine rocks that has been proposed
to be a protected area of botanical interest. In the valleys, there
is abundance sugarcane and minor fruit.
